My half marathon is coming fast. But before we get there I need to get back on track with my training plan. I have kept myself moving, but my head has not been in it.

I know that I will finish my half marathon. I have no doubt about that. I can do it. Overcoming the mental blocks is what is difficult right now. I am too much inside my head. I’ll figure it out and smash my half.

In other news it is the third month of the year and I decided that I am going to focus on my eating. This past week I did okay. I am going to step up my game this week and really focus on what I am eating and drinking. I mostly drink water but do drink coffee as well. I am going to cut down to one cup of coffee a day. This is a small step that I know I can make. Small changes add up.

This year is about creating. My word for the year is create. I have created so much this year already. Making the small changes in my eating habits is creating new routines. It is creating a new way of thinking.

Running and keeping my body moving is creating better health for myself. I am creating a better life for myself and my family.

I know that getting back to my training plan my half will be easier. If I don’t follow it exactly I know I can still finish and that will be success. I am very excited to get out there and run.

Make a plan and follow it. If you stray from it own it and do what you need to get back on track. Modify the plan. Work hard at achieving what you set out to do. When we set goals the path to it will likely be bumpy and have obstacles. I think the most important thing is to look those obstacles in the face and keep going. Sometimes the difference between two people is that one faced the obstacles while the other gave up. Be the one that keeps going.

I am not where I want to be just yet but I am still going. I’m working at overcoming my obstacles. I’m doing it for me.

Until next time,

Go for a run, do something you are passionate about, keep going, be kind, be you.
